Donation Procedure 3:
ADOPT is a duly registered as charitable trust with the Government of India and the Income Tax department and also has all the necessary permissions required to work in various fields and accept donations from local as well as sources abroad.
We are proud to say that we have blanket permission from the Home Ministry, Government of India to receive foreign donations under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976. We have received this registration for a wide area of activity – “Cultural – Educational – Social”. This demands total transparency and credibility from us about our activities.
We are also registered with the Income Tax Department, Government of India, so that all donations to us are exempt from income tax. Our registration no is DIT / (Exemptions) 2002-2003 /A-1274/917.
ADOPT has been additionally granted 100% tax exemption by the Government of India, under section 35AC of Income Tax Act, 1961, vide Notification no. S.O./822 (E) dated 26.10.06 for 1000 nos.Toilets and 100 nos. Heart Operations on donations upto Rs. 20,755,000.
